MORRIS DIGITALWORKS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH BRAZILIAN ASSOCIADOS

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Morris DigitalWorks (MDW), the online division of Morris Communications Company, LLC, announced today that Associados, a Brazilian communication group based in Brasilia, has contracted with MDW as exclusive reseller of MDW's core applications, including automotive, real estate and classified.

Associados licensed the MDW applications in September 2005. After launching in their own markets, Associados will be providing the solutions to other Brazilian papers via an application service provider (ASP) model.

"Associados' impressive media presence makes them the ideal partner to market our newspaper technology throughout Brazil," said Michael Romaner, president of Morris DigitalWorks. "We are thrilled to extend this customer relationship to a partnership."

"The system is already up and running in the Portuguese language," said Geraldo Costa Neto, development director for Associados. "Since it is fully customized for the Brazilian market, we decided to present it to non-Associados newspapers. After visiting several publishers, we have found that there is a real need for local newspapers to have access to nationwide commerce. The reception of this project is higher than we anticipated. We strongly believe that the project launch, which will happen this semester, will unify several newspaper groups with the same goal and Morris' technology will facilitate this union."

Associados has 12 newspapers, including Estado de Minas, Correio Brazileinse and Diario de Pernambuco. The communications group also boasts 13 radio stations, seven television stations and three Internet service providers. Formed in 1924, Associados is credited for bringing television to Brazil in the 1950s. Today the group employs more than 4,600 people and has annual revenue of more than $250 million (US).
