Approach: With over 50 online enterprises related to newspapers, other publications and television stations, Media General licensed the Classifieds suite of applications from Morris DigitalWorks. In addition to mdClassifieds, mdReal Estate and mdEmployment, BizLink and mdDisplay were included in the agreement in order to efficiently and effectively integrate other forms of advertising into the traditional online classified advertising space. The enterprise licensing arrangement allows Media General to manage, own and operate these applications from within their own facilities on their own servers.
Outcome: Media General's flagship newspaper Tampa (FL) Tribune utilizes the application to aggregate online classifieds from the various Media General newspapers into a single organized view for customers. The Tampa Tribune also participates in the regional Florida Top Jobs network along with Morris newspapers in Jacksonville and St. Augustine. The Florida Top Jobs network enables newspapers from Media General, E.W. Scripps, The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group and Morris Communications to up-sell regional exposure for job listings throughout the network.
